Project description
- collaboration with international teams of experts on technologically advanced projects that support key operations of a major European institution
- administration of database systems Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Cassandra
- installation, configuration and updating of database servers and systems
- monitoring system health and performance using tools like SCOM and SolarWinds DPA
- security and access management to sensitive data
- ensuring backup, recovery and high availability of systems
- development and implementation of automation scripts (Powershell, Bash)
- support for DevOps processes for deploying database schema changes
- coordination with development, security, network and service management teams
- technical training and knowledge transfer to internal teams
Project requirements
- Minimum education: university degree (bachelor's or higher)
- at least 8 years of experience as an ICT consultant in a large enterprise environment managing critical production systems
- at least 6 years of experience in database administration with sensitive data in high-security environments
- at least 5 years of experience with database administration using the following tools and technologies:
- MariaDB and/or MySQL
- MySQL Workbench, mariabackup, mysqlbinlog
- at least 5 years of experience with database administration using the following technologies:
- PostgreSQL
- pgAdmin, pgBackRest, Patrons
- knowledge of methodologies:
- conceptual data modeling
- physical data modeling
- data model normalization
- creating entity-attribute-relationship diagrams
- Experience with database administration using the following tools and technologies:
- MariaDB and/or MongoDB and/or Cassandra
- mariabackup, mysqlbinlog
- experience with database administration using the following technologies:
- PostgreSQL
- Patrons
- knowledge of complex enterprise architectures and advanced ICT solutions, including microservices
- knowledge of ITIL processes for the systematic management of complex IT environments
- willingness to work fully onsite in The Hague (Netherlands)
- professional knowledge of English at level B2 and higher
