architecture and further development of the Databricks Data Lakehouse platform built on medallion architecture and Delta Lake
design of scalable data models, integration standards and best practices
setup and development of data governance, Unity Catalog, security and access management
development of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code for the Databricks environment
platform optimization in terms of performance, scalability and costs
design of data products and support for BI/Power BI analytics
technical team leadership and support for key architectural decisions in an international environment
tech stack / environment: Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Apache Spark, Unity Catalog, ADLS, Python, SQL, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Power BI, SAP BW
collaboration possible on a full-time basis in a 100% REMOTE mode
final remuneration depends on the candidate's experience and the selection process

Project requirements

min. 5 years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering
hands-on experience with Databricks in a production enterprise environment
very good knowledge of Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark and lakehouse / medallion architecture
practical experience with Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Databricks and ADLS
experience with data governance, Unity Catalog, security and permissions
knowledge of data modeling – Dimensional Modeling and/or Data Vault
hands-on SQL and Python
experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
ability to function as a Data Architect / Tech Lead, make and defend architectural decisions and technically lead a team
active knowledge of German as well as English, spoken and written (min. B2-C1)
advantageous experience with:
- Databricks Asset Bundles, Azure DevOps and Power BI
- SAP BW / SAP data environment
- FinOps and Databricks cost optimization
excellent communication and consulting skills
independence and proactivity
ability to mentor and transfer know-how
