Project description

  • designing architectural concepts, standards, and reusable development patterns within the bank's environment to accelerate migration to Databricks
  • providing consultations, defining architectural decisions considering efficiency and addressing challenges related to migration deadlines
  • setting up data governance, managing the data lifecycle and metadata using Unity Catalog, including the evaluation and implementation of Data Quality / monitoring frameworks
  • implementing CI/CD processes, metadata-driven approaches, and orchestrating data pipelines using Airflow in combination with Databricks jobs
  • defining development standards, the structure of Git repositories, naming conventions, and security guardrails
  • supporting the team in a hybrid mode at a ratio of 2 days onsite / 3 days remote (or 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) with a planned project duration of at least 1 year and a start date from September 2026

 

Project requirements

  • advanced experience with:
    • at least 5 years of experience in data engineering and architecture with a focus on Databricks
    • at least 3 years of experience orchestrating workflows using Airflow in combination with Databricks jobs
    • automation of the development cycle and setting up CI/CD pipelines using Git
  • advanced knowledge of:
    • data governance, metadata management, and setting up Unity Catalog
    • designing and evaluating Data Quality / DQMS systems and monitoring in data platforms
  • experience with:
    • defining development standards, structuring repositories, and naming conventions
    • assessing architectural alternatives, evaluating their impacts, and creating migration recommendations
    • functioning in a consulting and support role with an emphasis on knowledge sharing
  • advantageous:
    • knowledge of Python or SQL
    • practical experience with a metadata-driven approach to development
