Project description

ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of database systems processing key data
collaboration across development, infrastructure, and support teams to optimize database services and resolve incidents
management, backup, and performance enhancement of enterprise environments on the MS SQL Server platform
management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of MS SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments
database performance optimization, query tuning, indexing, and identification of system bottlenecks
configuration and management of SQL Server Availability Groups (Always On) for high availability and disaster recovery
implementation of security standards, access rights management based on the principle of least privilege, and encryption
design, testing, and maintenance of backup and data recovery strategies in accordance with required SLA, RPO, and RTO
basic administration of the Windows Server operating system related to database hosts (patching, updates)
creation of technical documentation, procedures, and runbooks
collaboration 2–3 days a week onsite in Prague and the rest remote

Project requirements

advanced experience with:
- at least 3–5 years of administration of MS SQL Server (version 2019 or newer) in an enterprise environment
- troubleshooting performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and connectivity
- configuration and management of SQL Server Availability Groups (Always On)
advanced knowledge of:
- database security standards (authentication, encryption, auditing)
- backup and data recovery strategies in accordance with SLA, RPO, and RTO
- tools for monitoring and optimizing database performance
knowledge of:
- basic administration of Windows Server (patching, services, network fundamentals)
- English language at a minimum level of B2 for written and spoken communication
advantageous:
- development and maintenance of ETL processes using SSIS
- Business Intelligence tools (SSRS, Power BI) and data warehousing concepts
- PowerShell and T-SQL scripting languages for automation
