Project description
- responsibility for the design, development, and maintenance of a data platform built on Databricks
- participation in the design, creation (SQL, Python, PySpark) and operation of scalable data pipelines and products within Databricks
- development and maintenance of DWH data models and datasets (in accordance with Kimball methodology) together with the team
- implementation of:
- ELT/ETL for data processing
- native Databricks features (Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines)
- data quality control monitoring (Expectations)
- configuration and management of access and catalogs/schemas (Unity Catalog)
- participation in the creation of technical documentation
- operations support (responding to incidents and continuously improving platform reliability)
- long-term cooperation in an agile team
- cooperation possible in a 100% REMOTE or hybrid REMOTE / ON-SITE (Bratislava) mode - depending on project needs and freelancer preferences
Project requirements
- advanced experience with:
- operating Databricks in a production environment
- building scalable data pipelines and products (using SQL, Python and/or PySpark)
- experience with specific Databricks technologies, such as:
- Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (DLT)
- Expectations
- Unity Catalog
- CI/CD process for data pipelines (ideally Databricks Asset Bundles)
- experience with designing and modeling DWH (in accordance with Kimball, Inmon and/or Data Vault methodology)
- knowledge of:
- orchestration patterns
- incremental processing
- SCDs
- metadata management
- observability
- fluent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- advantageous experience with:
- MS SQL Server and T-SQL
- MS Azure (ADLS, network/security concepts, identity/authentication...)
- Git (branching, code reviews)
- Databricks Asset Bundles
