Project description
- you will take technical responsibility for the deployment of infrastructure and applications for 24/7 trading, including automation, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- you will lead technical improvements of on-premise infrastructure and automation with the aim of increasing operability, security, compliance, and reliability of the production environment
- you will design and implement new procedures and technologies for operations and participate in the further direction of infrastructure and gradual containerization
- you will manage application servers in VMware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9 environments, including upgrades, patching, tuning, capacity, and performance management
- you will automate operations, configuration, and deployment using Ansible, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, and related tools
- you will deploy and support internally developed applications as well as third-party software from testing environments to production, ensuring smooth CI/CD pipelines
- you will monitor infrastructure and applications using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch, and further develop metrics-based monitoring
- you will support middleware and related systems including Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Patroni, etcd, Apache, and HAProxy
- you will ensure 24/7 production support and participate in shifts and on-call duties divided within the team
- you will collaborate with development on architecture design and provide technical consultations
- you will evaluate and develop new initiatives in the areas of DevOps, automation, and containerization
- you will mentor team members, support knowledge sharing, and their technical development
- you will represent the operational needs of the product in areas of operability, sustainability, and performance to senior management and external stakeholders
- collaboration takes place in a hybrid mode - 1x per week onsite in Prague
Project requirements
- minimum of 6 years in technical operations, ideally in highly critical 24/7 financial or enterprise environments
- advanced experience with:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux – installation, monitoring, maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting
- automation, software deployment, orchestration and CI/CD, primarily Ansible, Jenkins, etcd, Git and GitHub
- experience with:
- classic on-premise environments and, at the same time, demonstrable migration of legacy systems towards containerization with regard to regulatory and high-availability requirements
- independent incident resolution and taking responsibility in time-critical situations
- technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, knowledge sharing and task delegation
- advantageous:
- deeper hands-on administration of Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL or Prometheus
- strong networking knowledge including topologies, load balancers, firewalls, switches, xinetd proxies and troubleshooting using telnet, ss or Wireshark
- architectural knowledge of HA, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, serverless and microservices
- experience with enterprise security requirements including certificates, TLS encryption and central identity management
- practical experience with implementing and enforcing DevOps, SRE or Agile ways of working within a team
- experience with Java, Kotlin, Python or Go
