Project description
- work on cloud infrastructure of critical 24/7 financial risk systems in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment
- management and development of Kubernetes/GKE environments with an emphasis on high availability, fault tolerance, and zero-downtime operation
- development of GitOps delivery using ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code via Terraform
- management of GKE clusters including performance optimization, service mesh reliability, and automated lifecycle management
- ensuring deployment to a production OpenShift cluster and its support
- building and supporting secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise infrastructure in GCP
- creating and managing modular and reproducible infrastructure and configuration using Terraform and modern configuration management
- ensuring high availability, multi-zone/multi-region disaster recovery, and continuous delivery
- support for observability and monitoring through Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and GCP Cloud Operations
- collaboration with developers, platform teams, architects, and security specialists
- collaboration takes place in a hybrid mode with at least 2 days per week in the Prague offices
Project requirements
- strong hands-on production experience with GCP, especially GKE and related cloud services
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- active knowledge of English at a minimum B2 level
- advanced practical experience with:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in a production environment – especially IAM, VPC, Compute Engine, GKE, and Secret Manager
- Kubernetes and container orchestration in a production environment, preferably GKE
- Terraform in an enterprise environment
- Linux and systems engineering
- experience with:
- implementing declarative GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
- creating scalable and secure CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions
- Helm and Kustomize
- container runtimes and container security
- automation scripting in Python, Bash, or Go
- designing and operating mission-critical systems with strict SLAs, low-latency, and zero-downtime requirements
- modern AI/GenAI technologies and their active utilization
- advantageous:
- GCP certification, e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
- experience with Service Mesh, especially Istio / Anthos Service Mesh
- knowledge of zero-trust security models
- experience with modern observability frameworks, ideally Grafana Cloud
- experience with financial market infrastructure, trading/clearing platforms, or quantitative risk management systems
