Project description
- the project involves transforming an existing integration solution from TIBCO to Apache Camel and developing automated testing of backend and integration services
- collaboration on the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated integration and regression tests
- extending the existing backend automation framework with reusable components and ensuring reliable testing of complex integration processes
- scope of work:
- design, implementation, and maintenance of automated integration and regression tests for services built on Apache Camel
- extending the existing backend automation framework with components necessary for testing integration services
- design and development of reusable test automation components
- automation of testing REST API and SOAP/Web Services
- automated testing of synchronous and asynchronous communication
- validation of request/response payloads and integration contracts
- testing data transformations, message routing, and integration processes
- verification of error handling, timeouts, and retry mechanisms
- preparation of automated tests for individual phases of the TIBCO → Apache Camel migration
- comparing the behavior of existing TIBCO integrations with new implementations in Apache Camel
- gradual creation and extension of automated regression tests
- testing message-based integrations including Kafka / JMS scenarios
- analysis of application and integration logs using Kibana / Elasticsearch or comparable tools
- transaction tracing and problem identification using correlation ID
- validation of data consistency using SQL
- verification of data at the database level, e.g., Oracle or PostgreSQL
- design and utilization of mocks, stubs, and simulations of upstream/downstream systems
- preparation and management of test data for repeatable integration testing
- integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- ensuring regular and automated execution of tests
- collaboration on defining methodology, standards, and best practices for integration testing
- collaboration with integration developers, architects, analysts, and testers
- analysis of automated test results and identification of failure causes
- distinguishing between test, test data, environment, or implementation errors
- documentation of created testing solutions and components
- ensuring knowledge transfer to other team members
- collaboration 75% ON-SITE Bratislava mode (HOME OFFICE 5 days / month)
Project requirements
- minimum 5 years of relevant practical experience in backend/integration test automation or system integration
- strong practical experience with API and integration testing
- practical experience with automated testing in Java
- experience with RestAssured / Serenity BDD or comparable Java automation framework
- experience with automated testing of REST API
- experience with testing SOAP / Web Services
- experience with testing synchronous and asynchronous communication
- experience with testing complex integration flows
- experience with validating error handling, timeouts, and retry mechanisms
- practical knowledge of JSON and XML
- experience with validating payloads, data schemas, and integration contracts
- practical knowledge of SQL and the ability to independently verify data at the database level
- experience with Kibana / Elasticsearch or comparable logging/observability solution
- practical knowledge of Git
- experience with CI/CD
- experience with tools like Jenkins, Swagger/OpenAPI, Jira, TestRail or their equivalents
- ability to independently analyze an integration service and design appropriate test coverage
- ability to design automated test scenarios even without complete input test documentation
- strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- ability to identify the cause of failures across distributed integration flows
- ability to effectively collaborate with developers, integration architects, and testers
- ability to technically explain and defend the proposed test automation solution
- active knowledge of Slovak and English (written and spoken)
