Project description
- the project focuses on the analysis, documentation, and transformation of existing data validation and Data Quality rules from a legacy environment into a new data environment built on Azure Databricks
- collaboration as a Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on data and Data Quality, closely cooperating with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, and development teams
- a key part of the role will be understanding existing business and data validation rules, documenting their purpose and logic, analyzing Data Quality problems, and supporting their implementation and verification in the new environment

- responsibilities:
- analysis of existing business and data validation rules in the legacy environment
- understanding the business meaning of existing data controls
- gathering and refining requirements with business and technical stakeholders
- documenting Data Quality rules, validation logic, and expected results
- identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and ambiguities in existing validation rules
- SQL analysis and data validation
- analysis of Data Quality problems and support in finding their root cause
- defining functional requirements and acceptance criteria for validation mechanisms in the new environment
- close cooperation with Data Engineers on implementation in Azure Databricks
- comparing and validating results between legacy and target environments
- supporting testing, reconciliation, and business validation
- maintaining clear documentation and traceability of validation rules
- communicating findings and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders
- collaboration possible in a hybrid ON-SITE / REMOTE mode, with at least 2-3 days per week on-site ( Bratislava )
- final remuneration depends on the candidate's experience and the selection process
Project requirements
- min. 3-year project experience as Technical Business Analyst / IT Business Analyst, ideally on data-oriented projects
- very good practical knowledge of SQL
- strong experience with requirements analysis and stakeholder communication
- practical experience with Data Quality, Data Validation, or Data Reconciliation
- ability to:
- analyze and document existing business and data validation rules
- independently create more complex SQL queries for data analysis and validation
- identify data inconsistencies and analyze their causes
- experience with:
- querying and analyzing larger data datasets
- designing or implementing data quality checks / data validations
- transforming business requirements into functional specifications, validation rules, and acceptance criteria
- collaborating with Data Engineers and developers
- testing and validating data solutions
- legacy systems and their transformation into a new environment
- analytical and structured thinking
- high degree of independence and hands-on approach
- ability to work with an existing/legacy solution and translate its rules into a new environment
- key technologies:
- SQL
- Data Quality / Data Validation
- active knowledge of the English language both spoken and written (min. B2-C1)
- advantageous:
- experience with Python or PySpark
- experience from banking, insurance, or financial services
- experience with financial or transactional data
- Azure Databricks / Databricks
- data migrations / legacy modernization

- Data Governance / Data Lineage
- knowledge of ETL/ELT principles
