Project description

  • the project focuses on migrating an existing solution to a new enterprise payment solution in a digital banking environment
  • a transformational project where ensuring a smooth transition from the original solution to the new platform without negative impact on business processes, users, data quality, and subsequent operation is key
  • the main goal of the project is to establish and manage a structured testing process
    • covering all relevant testing phases:
      • test strategy preparation
      • planning of testing activities
      • coordination of test data and environments
      • defect lifecycle management, reporting, and release readiness assessment
  • the migration affects multiple layers of the solution:
    • business processes
    • integration flows
    • system interfaces
    • testing environments
    • user acceptance
    • production readiness
  • collaboration as a quality coordinator who will bridge business, IT, delivery teams, and stakeholders
  • technically, this is a project where functional, integration, system, and regression testing need to be ensured, with a strong emphasis on traceability between requirements, test scenarios, test cases, defects, and release criteria
  • the outcome of the work will not only be the testing management itself but also the delivery of high-quality project artifacts:
    • test strategy
    • test plan
    • test execution reports
    • defect lifecycle reports
    • dashboards
    • root cause analysis
    • test summary report
    • release readiness assessment
  • tasks and responsibilities:
    • defining the overall test strategy, test approach, and governance model for the migration project
    • preparing the test plan including schedule, testing phases, dependencies, resource planning, and entry/exit criteria
    • establishing the end-to-end test management process in line with enterprise best practices
    • coordinating the preparation of test cases, test scripts, and test data in collaboration with business and IT teams
    • ensuring traceability between requirements, test scenarios, test cases, defects, and release criteria
    • coordinating testing environments, data inputs, and dependencies between individual teams
    • managing functional, integration, system, and regression testing
    • monitoring testing progress against the approved plan, identifying deviations, and proposing corrective actions
    • regular reporting of test status, test coverage, open risks, blockers, and release readiness
    • preparing test dashboards and executive summaries for project stakeholders
    • establishing and managing the defect management process from defect identification to its closure
    • logging, classifying, prioritizing, and tracking defects in agreed-upon tools
    • organizing and facilitating defect triage meetings with IT, business, and delivery teams
    • coordinating the assignment of defects to the correct owners and monitoring their timely resolution
    • managing retesting, defect closure, and escalations in case of delays or critical blockers
    • continuous defect trend analysis including metrics such as aging, reopen rate, severity distribution, and defect leakage
    • identifying systemic issues and proposing improvements in testing, documentation, or delivery processes
    • preparing root cause analysis reports for recurring or critical defects
    • preparing the test summary report and release readiness assessment before production deployment
    • close collaboration with project management, business owners, IT delivery teams, analysts, and release management
    • actively highlighting risks, dependencies, and quality deficiencies that may affect the success of the migration
       
  • collaboration in a hybrid mode REMOTE + ON-SITE, with ON-SITE [ Vienna ] as needed for the project, the rest REMOTE
  • the final remuneration depends on the candidate's experience

Project requirements

  • min. 5 years of experience in test management, defect management, or QA coordination in an enterprise environment
  • experience with:
    • managing testing in complex IT projects, ideally in banking, insurance, payment systems, or other regulated environments
    • managing functional, integration, system, and regression testing
    • tools such as JIRA
    • test management tools like:
      • Testiny
      • Xray
      • Zephyr
      • or similar
    • coordinating multiple stakeholders:
      • IT
      • business
      • analysts
      • development
      • testers
      • project management
      • release management
  • practical experience in preparing:
    • test strategy
    • test plan
    • test schedule
    • test summary report
  • strong knowledge of defect lifecycle management – from defect logging to closure and reporting
  • ability to:
    • define and monitor test metrics
      • test coverage
      • defect aging
      • reopen rate
      • severity distribution
      • release readiness
    • identify risks, blockers, and dependencies in the testing process
    • prepare clear reporting and dashboards for operational and management levels
       
  • active knowledge of English at C1 level
     
  • a big advantage:
    • experience with:
      • migration projects in an enterprise environment
      • banking or payment domain environment
      • UAT coordination and collaboration with business users
      • release readiness assessment and go-live support
      • root cause analysis and defect trend analysis
      • tools such as Confluence, HP ALM, qTest, Power BI or similar reporting tools
      • coordination of test environments and test data
    • ISTQB Foundation / Advanced Level certification
    • knowledge of agile delivery environment and collaboration in cross-functional teams
    • ability to communicate risks factually, directly, and with proposed solutions
