Project description

  • design and implementation of test strategy, plans, and test methods for a technical migration project of 3 banking applications from Oracle to PostgreSQL database.
  • definition of testing phases and RACI matrix
  • implementation and setup of existing test tools (Playwright, Zephyr, Jira)
  • preparation, implementation, and execution of end-to-end performance tests (defining KPIs, metrics, and acceptance criteria)
  • participation in the design and creation of test scenarios, test cases, and test data
  • monitoring and evaluation of test criteria and schedule fulfillment
  • management of functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and acceptance tests
  • cooperation during production deployment
  • coordination and mentoring of the tester team and business testers
  • reporting on the status of testing and identified errors to the project manager
  • analysis of test results, design and implementation of corrective actions
  • selection, use, and management of test tools, design of test automation
  • communication with developers, business owners, and other stakeholders
     
  • cooperation takes place in a hybrid ON-SITE (Bratislava) and REMOTE mode (approx. 20:80)

Project requirements

  • min. 5 years of experience with test management in complex technical projects and/or database migration projects (ideally migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL or similar heterogeneous migrations)
  • experience with:
    • defining and implementing complex test strategies, frameworks, and methodologies
    • testing data migration, reconciliation, schema validation, and functional equivalence testing between source and target databases
    • implementing and setting up test tools (Playwright, Zephyr, Jira)
    • preparing, implementing, and executing end-to-end performance tests (defining KPIs, metrics, and acceptance criteria)
  • knowledge of tools:
    • Jira + Zephyr (or equivalent test management plugins): advanced configuration, test planning, execution, traceability, and dashboards
    • Playwright: practical experience in designing and implementing automated E2E/functional/regression test suites (preferably in a CI-supported environment)
    • JMeter: strong practical knowledge in performance test design, scripting (including complex scenarios, parameterization, distributed testing), execution, results analysis, and reporting
  • deep knowledge of:
    • risk-based testing
    • estimation of testing effort
    • metrics/KPIs and quality checkpoints in the context of migration
    • relational databases
    • SQL
    • typical challenges associated with Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations (differences in data types, impact of PL/SQL to PL/pgSQL conversion, differences in query plans, indexing strategies, concurrency behavior, etc.).
    • techniques and tools for data validation and reconciliation used in migration projects.
    • application architectures that interact with databases (APIs, batch processing, reporting layers), for the purpose of designing effective E2E and performance scenarios.
  • active knowledge of Slovak/Czech and English (spoken and written)
     
  • advantageous experience with:
    • Oracle and/or PostgreSQL (database administration (DBA) and/or development).
    • migration tools and/or validation frameworks (Ora2Pg, AWS DMS, custom reconciliation scripts, etc.).
    • monitoring tools that complement JMeter (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, APM tools).
    • consulting/delivery within large migration or modernization programs.
    • banking sector
