Detaily projektu

  • providing support to developers in managing databases, including creating test replicas and environments
  • monitoring and managing large or long-running queries to prevent system overload
  • addressing complexities of execution plans across various DBMS, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • moving away from current brute-force solutions to more sophisticated problem-solving for severe database issues
  • developing and improving automation tools for database management
  • searching for and tune problematic queries to optimize database performance
  • undertaking complex database migrations that are too risky during peak hours

Požiadavky projektu

  • at least 3 years of professional experience in DB management with recent versions of RDBMs such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or ideally MySQL (5.7, 8)
  • deep understanding and expert-level tuning of DB storage engines, preferably MySQL's
  • experience with cloud database services, ideally GCP & MySQL
  • ability to debug and optimize SQL statements, execution plans, index/resource planning, locking
  • experience with Master/Master and Master/replica clustering
  • proficient in English at an advanced level
  • experience with the development of the MySQL database engine is an advantage
  • ability to design database architecture in the context of a rapidly growing company
  • independent, decision-making capabilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • nice to have:
    • experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB
    • knowledge of ProxySQL or similar tools and understanding of underlying hardware limitations
