Project description
- the project is focused on the transformation of existing data validation mechanisms from the current legacy environment to a new data platform built on Azure Databricks
- analysis of existing data validation rules in the legacy environment
- collaboration on their transfer and application to the new data platform
- working with large amounts of data in the Azure Databricks environment
- close cooperation with business, data, and development teams
- international enterprise environment
- responsibilities:
- analysis of existing legacy data validation rules and control mechanisms
- identification and documentation of currently used data controls
- querying data assets via SQL
- design and creation of SQL queries for data control and validation
- implementation of Data Quality checks on existing data
- checking data completeness, consistency, and correctness
- identification of data anomalies and discrepancies
- analysis of the causes of data quality problems
- collaboration on defining validation rules for the new data platform
- after approval of existing validation rules, their application and verification in the new environment
- comparison of results between the legacy and the new data platform
- working with data and data structures in Azure Databricks
- preparation of ad-hoc SQL control queries as needed by the project
- documentation of validation rules, results, and identified problems
- collaboration with Data Engineers, developers, and business stakeholders
- support for data testing and validation during solution migration/transformation
- active communication within a distributed international team
- cooperation is possible in a hybrid ON-SITE / REMOTE mode, with at least 2-3 days per week on-site ( Bratislava )
- the final remuneration depends on the candidate's experience and the progress of the selection process
Project requirements
- min. 3 years of project experience in a technically oriented analytical position, e.g.:
- Data Analyst
- Technical Business Analyst
- IT Business Analyst with a strong data background
- Data Quality Analyst
- very good practical knowledge of SQL
- ability to independently create more complex SQL queries for data analysis and validation
- experience with querying and analyzing large data datasets
- practical experience with Data Quality Analysis
- experience with designing or implementing data quality checks / data validations
- ability to identify data inconsistencies and analyze their causes
- previous experience with Azure Databricks / Databricks
- good understanding of data structures and data models
- experience with testing and validating data solutions
- analytical and structured thinking
- high degree of independence and hands-on approach
- ability to work with existing/legacy solutions and translate their rules into a new environment
- key technologies:
- SQL
- Azure Databricks
- Databricks / Lakehouse environment
- Data Quality / Data Validation
- active knowledge of English spoken and written (min. B2-C1)
- advantageous:
- experience with Python or PySpark
- broader experience with the Azure data ecosystem
- experience with ETL/ELT processes
- experience with data migrations or modernization of legacy data platforms
- experience with Data Reconciliation between legacy and target systems
- knowledge of Delta Lake / Lakehouse architecture
- experience with Data Governance or Data Lineage
- experience from banking, insurance, or financial services
- experience with financial data and transactional systems
- experience with data historization or archiving
- experience with agile development methodology
